The Vegas-based New Yorker and tournament specialist, Shaun Deeb, is the first player to cash in the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo even though Day1B hasn’t even finished! How so? He knocked out Bodog Network CEO, Patrik Selin, who had put a 1,000 EUR bounty on his own head.

The hand details: The cut off player started the action with a pre-flop raised. Patrik (in Small Blind) called with AQ and Shaun (BB) re-raised with KJ. The cut off player called. Patrik (SB) re-re raised and Shaun (BB) then re-re-re raised! The cut off folded and Patrik flat called. The flop came down with K-J-J where Shaun cleverly made only a small bet which Patrik called.

The turn comes out 10 giving Patrik the straight and the inevitable all-in but not good enough to beat Shaun’s Full House. Shaun Deeb doubles up to 80,000 (average 34K) and is also one thousand euro richer.

Bodog Network’s CEO said: “It was always a going to be a tough day sat next to Shaun and to be honest if anybody on the table was going to kick me out I wanted it to be him. I probably should have gone all-in pre-flop to try and force the fold but I won’t be the first to say it this week; ‘that’s poker’. I wish Shaun and everybody left all the best and I will be back for more at the WPT Grand Final in Paris.”

In a new first for an EPT event Patrik Selin, the only CEO of a major poker company to play regularly in the world’s biggest poker tournaments, will be offering a personal €1,000 cash to whoever knocks him out of the EPT Grand Final in Monaco (April 25th-30th).
London-based Swede, Patrik Selin, has an impressive poker CV both on a business level and as a player including the €500,000,000 sale of the OnGame poker network to BWin in 2006 when OnGame’s CEO and at the felts he won the Ritz Club Live Tournament in 2006 and was 2nd to Peter Gould in the 2007 UK Open Main Event.

Bodog Poker Network’s CEO Patrik Selin commented: “I think its a shame more senior management of poker rooms do not play at these events as it is the best way to find out what players want. Everybody at a live event is passionate about the game and happy to talk about their likes and dislikes which is invaluable to anybody running a poker room.

“Now I have raised the stakes and will be putting €1,000 straight into to the hand of the person who knocks me out which should make the banter even more fun in Monaco.”

LONDON, January 4 — When Bodog Network’s Jonas Ödman unveiled the brand’s new strategy to rakeback at the BAC in Budapest, September 2009, much debate and reaction has followed. The new system will be looking to reward operators bringing net depositing players to the table rather than the traditional method of rewarding the winning players.

However, inevitably, other poker rooms have tried to the follow the lead but appear to be actively ostracizing winning players in the process – this is something that is categorically not the strategy of Bodog Network.

The Bodog Network will reward operators bringing net depositing players which in turn are therefore attractive to winning players, rather than directly rewarding the winning player who is simply playing with a bankroll.

Patrk Selin, CEO of Bodog Network, stated; “The operators that appear to be trying to copy our model have missed the point. We will not be blocking winning players from our network – in fact we will be very attractive to them and will welcome them with open arms.

For further information please contact: BodogNetwork.com’s Press Office (London) on +44-7825-064776.
